Gyro has conducted and directed speed testing many times over the last six years. A vehicle is equipped with high-fidelity GPS and/or a radar gun, and makes passes down a roadway at different speeds. The passes are recorded on video by either a dash camera in the vehicle, a traffic camera or a surveillance camera. The video is analyzed for velocity from video and compared against the recorded GPS/radar truth data in order to confirm the accuracy of derived speeds from video.
